Star Wars Prequel Trilogy Review
I love "Phantom Menace" and I think the reason why this movie gets a bad wrap is because it's geared a little bit towards a younger audience than the old trilogy. That's okay because I'll always be a kid at heart. I love this movie! Liam Nesson was perfect as the Jedi Master Qui-Gong and so was the actor that played Obi One. Natalie Portman was great as Senator Amidala and I loved her wardrobe. Darth Maul is one of my favorite characters and I like the fact that he will always be shrouded in mystery and that they didn't fully explain his origin. The pod race scene is epic and the duel of fates between Darth Maul, Obi One and Qui Gong is one of my favorite battles in Star Wars. I think people expected too much out of this film at first but they have to remember that this is the very beginning of the story. Folks also complain about Jar Jar binks but I don't get it. Star Wars films have always had comedy in them and Jar Jar is just like C3p0 or R2. He's okay with me and Phantom Menace is a great film. The dialogue was okay, not unbearable. The kid that played Anakin was cool with me too. I don't know what people expected but I thought he played the role of a young Skywalker kid perfect. Some people don't like the fact that he wasn't crying his brains out when he had to leave his mom behind but I would think that the "chosen one" would be a little bit tougher emotionally than an average kid. I mean after all the kid can fly ships at hundreds of miles per hour with great reflexes! I don't care what anyone says "Phantom Menace" is essential Star Wars to me! attack of the clones has a great stroy because it reveals all the unknown secrets about the star wars saga. Revenge of the Sith is my second favorite Star Wars film in the saga behind "The Empire Strikes Back." I really like how the screenplay is a huge step up from "Attack of the Clones." The screenplay is a hundred times better. Our characters finally have something to do!! This is the moment we've all been waiting for all these years and the movie really lives up to my expectations. This movie is serious and really earns it's PG13 rating. The actor that plays the Emporer really gives an excellent performance in manipulating Anakin into the dark side. Every one stepped their game up as far as acting and the battle scenes were spectacular. The screenplay is also the best out of the new trilogy easily. The actor that plays Anakin does a better job this time around. This is how I want to remember Anakin; as a troubled adult! I don't care what anyone says this movie is the perfect Star Wars film and a great companion to the old trilogy.
